CNA is looking for a journalist to shape and deliverhigh-impact, social-first video journalism across YouTube, TikTok andInstagram. Based in the Video Strategy team within CNA’s Growth division, thisrole focuses on reaching new and younger audiences by translating CNA’sjournalism into compelling, platform-native video, while upholding CNA’seditorial standards and credibility.

This journalist will combine strong news judgement,storytelling skills and an understanding of digital platforms to drive audiencegrowth, working closely with reporters, video producers, designers and audienceteams.

Key Responsibilities

Journalism & Editorial Direction

Produce, edit and commission social-first video journalism, from breaking news explainers to in-depth, longer-form YouTube stories.
Translate CNA’s reporting into clear, engaging video narratives optimised for different social platforms.
Ensure accuracy, balance and editorial integrity across all published content.
Identify newsworthy stories and angles that resonate with regional and global audiences, particularly on social platforms.

Audience Growth & Performance

Shape story presentation to grow watch time on YouTube and engagement on TikTok and Instagram.
Work with data and audience insights to refine storytelling approaches, formats and publishing strategies.
Review content performance regularly and apply insights to improve future reporting and video output.

Collaboration & Newsroom Integration

Work closely with reporters, video producers, graphics teams and social editors to deliver timely, high-quality journalism.
Support and guide colleagues on adapting reporting for social and video-led platforms.
Collaborate with audience development and product teams to extend the reach and impact of CNA’s journalism.

Innovation & Experimentation

Stay abreast of emerging storytelling formats, platform changes and audience behaviour.
Experiment with new video styles, formats and workflows to strengthen CNA’s digital journalism.
Explore the use of AI tools to support reporting, production and distribution where appropriate.

Qualifications

Strong journalistic background, ideally in a digital-first newsroom.
Excellent news judgement and the ability to explain complex issues clearly and engagingly.
Experience producing or editing video journalism for digital or social platforms.
Understanding of how audiences consume news on YouTube, TikTok and Instagram.
Comfortable using data and analytics to inform editorial decisions.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage multiple stories and deadlines
