Legal Counsel (Bank)

We are partnering with a leading international bank to hire a Legal Counsel to join its Singapore team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a banking & finance lawyer looking to move in-house or further develop their career within a well-established financial institution with strong regional connectivity.

Responsibilities:

• Provide legal advice and support on banking, financing, treasury and commercial matters

• Review, draft and negotiate a wide range of legal documentation including loan agreements, security documents, ISDA documentation, outsourcing agreements, NDAs and commercial contracts

• Support corporate banking, private banking / wealth management and treasury transactions

• Advise on Singapore regulatory matters including MAS regulations, PDPA, outsourcing and banking secrecy requirements

• Support policy and procedure reviews, governance initiatives and legal risk management

• Handle disputes, regulatory enquiries and coordination with external counsel where required

• Review Chinese-language legal and transaction documents in relation to Head Office and cross-border matters

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification

• Minimum 2 years of relevant legal experience gained in a law firm, bank or financial institution

• Experience in banking & finance, treasury, derivatives, financial services regulation or commercial contracts preferred

• Familiarity with MAS regulations and Singapore banking documentation

• Ability to review and draft Chinese-language legal documents would be advantageous

• Strong drafting, analytical and stakeholder management skills

Candidates with more extensive experience may be considered for a more senior title.
