BIG DATA ENGINEER

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Big Data Engineer to join our technology team in Singapore. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-level big data platforms and solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and support big data platform solutions and data engineering projects.
• Analyse system and functional requirements and translate them into technical implementations.
• Convert business requirements into Functional Specification Documents (FSD).
• Develop scalable and reliable data pipelines and big data solutions.
• Ensure adherence to coding standards, security standards, and performance best practices.
• Implement best practices such as Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Continuous Integration (CI).
• Participate in project discussions, technical reviews, and status meetings, providing regular progress updates.
• Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks and technical issues proactively.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in Big Data Engineering or Data Platform development.
• Strong experience with Big Data technologies such as HDFS, Trino, and S3 Bucket.
• Proficiency in Python programming and scripting.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and code vulnerability management.
• Hands-on experience using development tools and IDEs.
• Strong understanding of data management, data modelling, and data architecture principles.
• Good working knowledge of SQL databases including MSSQL, Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
