Responsibilities
- Perform commissioning, testing and troubleshooting of marine propulsion and waterjet systems onboard vessels.
- Support installation, sea trials and system integration activities at shipyards and customer sites.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and control system issues during commissioning and post-delivery support.
- Liaise with shipyards, owners, captains and technical teams to ensure smooth execution of projects and timely resolution of technical matters.
- Prepare commissioning reports, service documentation and technical findings.
- Provide technical guidance and operational support to customers regarding propulsion system performance and maintenance.
- Participate in maintenance, repair and retrofit projects when required.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, company procedures and customer requirements during all onsite activities.
- Travel regionally and overseas for vessel attendance, commissioning and technical support assignments.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline.
- Experience in commissioning, servicing or troubleshooting marine propulsion systems, engines, waterjets, thrusters or related marine equipment.
- Hands-on technical capability with strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems, control systems and marine electrical systems is advantageous.
- Comfortable working onboard vessels, at shipyards and in operational marine environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently under pressure.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills when engaging with customers, shipyards and internal stakeholders.
- Team player with a proactive and adaptable attitude.
