Oishi Manufacturing Pte Ltd is a Singapore-based halal-certified food manufacturer specialising in OEM and wholesale production of ice cream, gelato, sorbet, soft serve premixes, waffles, bakery premixes and frozen desserts. The company operates from an approximately 18,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility and supplies leading F&B brands, retailers, HORECA operators and export markets across Asia.

Role Overview

The Manufacturing Cost Controller will be responsible for monitoring, analysing and controlling manufacturing costs across OEM and in-house food production operations. The role will work closely with Production, Procurement, Warehouse and Finance teams to improve costing accuracy, inventory control, operational efficiency and overall profitability.

This role is particularly suited for candidates with strong experience in food manufacturing, OEM/co-packing environments and inventory-intensive operations.

Key Responsibilities

Product Costing & Margin Analysis

  • Prepare and maintain accurate costing for OEM and in-house products, including:Raw materialsPackaging materialsLabourUtilitiesManufacturing overheads
  • Analyse production yields, overrun, wastage and manufacturing variances.
  • Monitor actual production costs against standard costing and budgeted targets.
  • Review and maintain BOMs (Bill of Materials), recipes and costing structures.
  • Support quotation preparation, pricing reviews and new product costing.
  • Conduct profitability analysis by customer, product and production batch.
  • Monitor commodity and packaging cost fluctuations and highlight impact on margins.

Inventory & Stock Control

  • Monitor inventory valuation for raw materials, packaging materials, WIP and finished goods.
  • Reconcile production usage against ERP/system records and investigate discrepancies.
  • Analyse stock variances, expiry risks, slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
  • Participate in periodic stock counts and audit exercises.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of customer-owned ingredients and packaging materials for OEM projects.

Manufacturing Operations Support

  • Work closely with Production and QA teams to monitor:Yield efficiencyProduction lossesDowntimeLabour productivityLine utilisation
  • Track and report manufacturing KPIs.
  • Support implementation of cost-saving and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in developing operational dashboards and manufacturing reports.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare weekly and monthly manufacturing cost reports and variance analysis.
  • Support month-end closing for manufacturing and inventory-related accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOPs and audit requirements.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning relating to manufacturing operations.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in manufacturing costing, preferably within food manufacturing, OEM or FMCG industries.
  • Strong understanding of:Food production costingInventory managementYield analysisStandard costing systems
  • Experience handling recipe costing and packaging cost control.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in OEM/co-packing manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with Halal, GMP, HACCP or FSSC 22000 manufacturing environments.
  • Experience in frozen food, dairy, dessert or beverage manufacturing is advantageous.

  • Accuracy of product costing and inventory valuation.
  • Reduction in wastage and unexplained manufacturing variances.
  • Inventory reconciliation accuracy.
  • Timeliness and accuracy of reporting.
  • Gross margin improvement support.
  • Monitoring and improvement of production yields and operational efficiency.
