Job Description

AWS is hiring a Community Engagement Manager to lead InCommunities initiatives for the AWS Data Center Community. This position will be based out of the Berwick, PA region and will support the business across Pennsylvania. This is a strategic role that requires the right candidate to Dive Deep to understand and support the AWS business.

As a Community Engagement Manager, you will:

Serve as the subject matter expert on external issues management and community relations around Data Center Infrastructure. You will identify and collaborate with partner organizations and key stakeholders to understand community needs, build relationships, and drive impactful outcomes. You will own the region's community issues management and lead the identification and deployment of programs designed to deliver sustaining and lasting impact in the communities where we live and work. The AWS InCommunities team launches long-term, innovative programs that drive lasting impact in regions around the world. We are obsessed with being good neighbors — we start with the community and work backwards to represent infrastructure communities inside AWS.

Key job responsibilities
- Lead strategy development and execute bespoke community engagement plans for major development projects across the region.
- Design and execute signature events and programs. - Set the vision for sustainable community engagement initiatives across the region and manage these with attention to detail and a high bar for quality.
- Own internal and external communications for community engagement programs. Represent AWS Infrastructure publicly with internal and external stakeholders. Leverage multiple communications channels to drive employee awareness and involvement in community engagement initiatives.
- Act as the point of contact for community-centric issues and concerns. Proactively identify and address internal and external issues that pose reputational risk to AWS and business objectives.
- Lead community assessments for new sites in the region. Identify potential community-related risks and develop proactive engagement plans to mitigate them. Think strategically to scale InCommunities programming as the AWS business grows.
- Capture and report data that demonstrates community engagement's quantified and qualified impact on AWS Infrastructure, its employees, and the community. Communicate these results internally and externally.
- Partner with cross-functional teams — engineering, operations, real estate, energy, water, sustainability, construction, legal, public policy, and public relations — to deliver results.
- Be physically present in the community. Roll up sleeves and get work done on the ground when required.
