This role sits within Amazon's Global Procurement Operations (GPO) team, classified as a Supply Chain Manager II position. The AI & MI Solutions Specialist drives cost engineering and digital optimization across one or more procurement categories (e.g., Packaging, Services, Robotics, MHE, CAPEX, Freight).

We are seeking an experienced, versatile and customer obsessed AI & MI Solutions Specialist who will be responsible for driving cost engineering and digital optimization initiatives in one or several procurement categories (for example Packaging, Services, Robotics, material handling equipment or CAPEX, Freight). The ideal candidate has experience in procurement/cost engineering with added experience in data and digital innovation. Alternatively, the candidate is a mechanical engineer with industrial expertise and a deep understanding of cost drivers and ideally experience in supplier negotiations.
Key job responsibilities
Collaborate with suppliers and internal customers to investigate and identify product innovations and design-to-cost initiatives with the ultimate target to achieve cost improvement
Communicate with and support management decisions by providing appropriate cost information
Develop and maintain cost engineering KPI’s and dashboards to track performance and drive continuous improvement.
Develop overall procurement cost-engineering roadmap and establish should-costing for one or several procurement categories
Utilize costing methodologies and appropriate software tools to prepare reliable bottom-up cost models and should-cost targets during design, specification and development process in close collaboration with category managers, engineering and construction
Support preparation and evaluation of call for tenders and supplier quotations, prepare negotiation dossiers from cost engineering viewpoint in close collaboration with category managers
Advise on the cost impact of changes in specification
