The Senior Fleet Manager (FM) is a key member of the Fleet Aviation Sourcing & Technical (FAST) organization, responsible for ensuring the technical performance, reliability, and long-term health of assigned aircraft fleets. This role serves as the primary technical owner and advisor for fleet-related decisions, working closely with internal stakeholders and carrier partners across maintenance, engineering, and operations. The Sr. FM leads fleet lifecycle management by leveraging deep technical expertise, industry experience, and data-driven insights to optimize maintenance strategies, resolve chronic technical issues, and drive continuous improvement. As a senior technical program manager, the FM influences cross-functional teams, manages complex technical initiatives, and ensures that fleet decisions align with operational, safety, and business objectives. This role requires strong leadership, analytical capability, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, highly autonomous environment.
Key job responsibilities
• Own the end-to-end technical lifecycle management of assigned aircraft fleets to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable operations.
• Define fleet-level technical direction and maintenance strategy in collaboration with carrier partners, OEMs, and engineering teams.
• Influence carrier maintenance programs, troubleshooting approaches, and technical decision-making through data-driven collaboration and operational alignment.
• Review recurring defect trends, chronic technical issues, and heavy maintenance findings to identify systemic improvement opportunities across fleet maintenance programs.
• Leverage maintenance analytics, diagnostic technologies, and operational data to proactively identify fleet risks and improve troubleshooting effectiveness.
• Operate effectively in ambiguous environments while balancing technical, operational, and business priorities.
• Support fleet maintenance initiatives including AD compliance, SB incorporation, SIL evaluations, tooling strategies, and fleet campaign execution.
• Serve as the primary technical focal point for fleet performance, integrations, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead cross-functional technical programs and fleet improvement projects from planning through implementation.
• Monitor and evaluate project outcomes through post-implementation performance reviews.
• Support training, mentor technical stakeholders, and strengthen organizational capability.
• Lead working groups and build strong partnerships to ensure alignment with senior leadership and key stakeholders.
