Finance Manager, SCOT Finance
Bellevue, Washington, USA
full-timeFinance & AccountingJob Description
At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. To get there, we need exceptionally talented, bright and driven people. If you'd like to help us build the place to find and buy anything online, this is your chance to make history.
The Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) Finance team is seeking a Finance Manager to support Strategic Sourcing. This team owns a portfolio of systems and programs that decide: if and when we should source a product, from which vendor and at what cost; the ideal supply chain setup (e.g. deciding among domestic orders, dropship, direct imports etc); when the vendor should ship/deliver inventory to Amazon FCs; which inbound lanes for pre-allocated transportation with how many shipments. Collectively, these decisions reduce out of stock rates for our customers while optimizing sourcing costs and improving vendor experience (VX) and performance of our vendors. You will work directly with a global team of operations research scientists, economists, AI and machine learning engineers, software developers, and product managers who are building autonomous sourcing systems that make millions of decisions daily. As the finance partner, you'll engage in model design discussions as the financial SME — ensuring algorithms incorporate appropriate financial inputs — and build the metrics and mechanisms to audit whether those models are delivering the outcomes we intended.
This is a perfect position for someone who knows how to drive consensus across stakeholders, work fast, and smart. Your experience has taught you how to look around corners and surface issues before they arise. You are passionate about finding simple solutions to complex problems, and data-driven decisions. You are deeply curious about how algorithms drive business outcomes at scale — and you're comfortable interrogating model outputs, challenging assumptions, and asking "is this optimizing for the right thing?" You are obsessed with our customer and understand the importance of making choices that are beneficial in the long-term. You are able to navigate complex topics and dive deep to understand the root cause of unexpected anecdotes, without losing sight of the full picture. You know which details make all the difference, and which ones don't add value. You know the difference between spending time wisely and wasting time.

- Conduct ad hoc analysis to quantify financial impact of opportunities and risks
- Communicate verbally and in writing to business customers and leadership with various levels of technical knowledge, educating them about our systems and sharing insights and recommendations
