Job Summary

The Project Engineer will lead and coordinate project activities to ensure timely delivery and compliance with technical requirements for rail E&M systems in Singapore’s transit environment. You will drive quality assurance through supervision of installation, testing, and commissioning while collaborating with diverse stakeholders to resolve site issues and maintain project schedules.

Responsibilities

• Lead the review of technical submissions including specifications, drawings, test procedures, and method statements to ensure full compliance with project requirements
• Oversee on-site installation, testing, commissioning, and system integration activities to ensure high-quality delivery of rail E&M systems
• Collaborate with contractors, stakeholders, and interfacing teams to identify and resolve site challenges, ensuring smooth project execution
• Facilitate project team monitoring of work schedules, updating, reviewing, and reporting project progress to align with timelines
• Support project management activities to ensure project delivery meets established timelines
• Adapt to flexible working hours and perform night or engineering-hour work as required
• Travel regularly between office and project sites to supervise and coordinate activities

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Recognised diploma or degree in Engineering (electronics or mechanical) or related discipline
• At least 3 years of project coordination experience in site installation, testing, and commissioning of rail E&M systems within Singapore’s transit environment
• Experience coordinating and interfacing with local transit stakeholders such as railway/transit operators for A&A, system upgrades, or new system implementations at revenue stations
• Experience with Automatic Fare Collection System upgrades, relocations, or system migration projects in transit environments is advantageous
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, BIM, or similar drawing tools for design drawing review
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills applied to project challenges
• Effective communication skills in English to liaise with diverse teams
• Highly motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with a collaborative attitude
