Application Engineer (Testing) 12 Months Agency Contract-Required to work on weekends and 24/7 standby required

Job Description

• Understand and analyze testing requirements based onthe test plan and test design 
• Enhance test plan by providing additional test cases to the test planwhenever necessary 
• Provide feedback to project team on design consideration tofacilitate meeting of requirements. 
• Provide feedback business analysts and/or customers on the testingrequirements and test techniques  
• Prepare and ensure readiness of test bed and test environment to carryout the test execution  
• Execute test in accordance to the test plan. Take screenshots onthe test results. 
• Analyze test results and work with respective teams to resolveissues such as defect open and resolution rate, bottlenecks in performance andother defects  
• Prepare test report for submission  
• Provide regular test results updates  
• Recommend and use automated testing tools where appropriate  
• Manage test activities and ensure the planned test activities arecompleted as scheduled  
• Assist in the integration testing, system testing, User Acceptance Test(UAT) & implementation activities to fix the reported problems/bugs of thesystem to ensure the smooth execution of programs in the productionenvironment   
• Investigate all reported problems/errors & initiate amendments &testing so that the system can operate correctly & efficiently 
• Adopt test standards and testing methodology  
• Create awareness; conduct training on test techniques, assists inimplementation of test standards, consistent methodology, best practices andprinciples.  
• Share knowledge within or other teams 
• Participate in peer reviews to improve project quality 

Job Requirements

• Diploma / Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent IT discipline with minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in enterprise software/application development projects.
• Strong technical knowledge in J2EE technologies, Java programming, Spring Framework/Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, SQL/PLSQL, and web-based application development within enterprise environments.
• Proven experience in full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) including requirement gathering, system analysis, application design, coding, testing, debugging, deployment, and production support.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology, CI/CD pipelines, Git/SVN version control, application servers such as Tomcat/WebLogic/JBoss, and relational databases including Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL will be advantageous.
• Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to deliver scalable, secure, and high-quality technical solutions within project timelines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong initiative, positive attitude, customer-focused mindset, and ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
