Software Engineer – Cloud Storage Platform (Database Intelligence)

Role Summary
My client is looking for a Software Engineer to join our Cloud Storage Platform team, focusing on database intelligence and automation. In this role, you will build intelligent systems to enhance the performance, reliability, and scalability of large-scale distributed databases. You will work on applying AI/ML techniques and system-level optimizations to enable autonomous database operations and next-generation cloud infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop intelligent features for cloud-native database systems (e.g., auto-tuning, anomaly detection, workload optimization)
• Build scalable storage and database infrastructure supporting high-concurrency and large-scale workloads
• Develop systems for database observability, diagnostics, and performance analysis
• Implement automation for database operations (self-healing, auto-scaling, resource scheduling)
• Collaborate with infrastructure, data platform, and SRE teams to improve system reliability and efficiency
• Optimize storage engines, query execution, and resource utilization
• Explore and apply AI/ML techniques to database optimization and intelligent operations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science or related field
• 3–8+ years of experience in backend engineering, distributed systems, or database systems
• Strong programming skills in C++ / Java / Go (at least one)
• Solid understanding of database internals (storage engine, indexing, query optimization, transaction processing)
• Experience with distributed systems and large-scale infrastructure
• Familiarity with Linux systems, networking, and performance tuning
• Strong problem-solving and system design skills
