Contract Management & Legal Advisory
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts to ensure legal soundness, regulatory compliance, and alignment with the company’s strategic objectives while safeguarding the company’s interests.
Ensure the legal integrity of contracts and proactively identify, assess, and mitigate contractual and commercial risks.
Provide legal guidance and support to internal stakeholders on contract-related matters and broader legal issues.
Clearly communicate contractual terms, obligations, and risk implications to relevant stakeholders to ensure consistent understanding and compliance.
Corporate & Regulatory Compliance
Advise on appropriate legal structures for project entities, including joint ventures and special purpose vehicles (SPVs), ensuring compliance with applicable local and international laws.
Address international legal considerations, including trade laws, export controls, and multi-jurisdictional regulatory requirements.
Support the acquisition and maintenance of licenses, permits, and regulatory approvals required for project execution.
Assist in the development and implementation of internal legal policies, procedures, and governance frameworks to strengthen compliance and project execution standards.
Dispute Resolution & Legal Proceedings
Manage and resolve disputes arising during contract execution through negotiation and mediation to achieve fair and commercially practical outcomes.
Oversee and coordinate claims, arbitrations, and court proceedings relating to the company’s projects.
Liaise with and manage external legal counsel on legal, regulatory, and dispute-related matters when required.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Training
Collaborate closely with project management, finance, procurement, and other business units to ensure effective and cohesive contract management practices.
Conduct legal briefings and training sessions to enhance stakeholders’ awareness of key legal risks, obligations, and compliance requirements.
Documentation & Administrative Support
Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of contracts, legal correspondence, and related documentation.
Participate in ad hoc projects and assignments as directed by management, ensuring all legal and regulatory considerations are appropriately addressed.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.
Minimum 10 years of relevant legal experience in private practice and/or in-house legal roles, preferably within the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of Singapore construction laws, regulations, and compliance frameworks.
Excellent contract drafting, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong commercial acumen and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across all levels.
