Job Description

Global Fleet and Products (GFP) Middle Mile Fleet team is looking for an experienced, driven, analytical, and creative Senior Program Manager to execute on GFP's exciting fleet goals. Come join our start-up culture, work fast and smart, while adapting and iterating quickly. An ideal candidate will be driving new programs to help Amazon become the industry leader in sustainable transportation.

You must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-level strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves, dig in, and get the job done.

You will be able to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, and then deliver them in a successful and timely manner. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent, and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Key job responsibilities
This role is inherently cross-functional—you will work closely with Business Development, Core Operations, Legal, Finance, Network planning, and executive teams to bring products to market. This job will require exceptional communication skills and having the ability to work independently in a high pressure environment with all levels of leadership, and exercise sound judgment where clear guidelines may not exist. The successful candidate will be proficient at solving transportation challenges and possess a bias to get things done and deliver results.

You will also:
- Own variable fleet strategy for North America Middle Mile power units, including operation plan, budget, rental vehicle specification, rental process, contracts, procurement, delivery and disposition
- Negotiate and manage third-party rental partnerships to secure adequate capacity during peak and year-round operations
- Own financial analysis and budget tracking for variable fleet programs, making data-driven decisions to optimize costs
- Develop strategies to improve fleet utilization, increase acceptance rates with programs, and balance supply constraints with operational demands
- Serve as escalation point for rental vehicles, demonstrating strong communication skills and knowing when to escalate appropriately
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast capacity needs and implement process improvements that drive operational excellence
- Serve as the Single Threaded Leader for all power unit safety incidents and establish standard work for future

A day in the life
Your day will be a dynamic blend of strategic planning and hands-on execution. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, break down complex transportation initiatives, and develop innovative strategies that push the boundaries of fleet management. Expect to dive deep into data, craft compelling proposals, and translate big-picture vision into actionable plans.

About the team
We are a passionate group dedicated to revolutionizing Amazon's transportation infrastructure. Our team thrives on solving complex logistical challenges and creating sustainable, efficient fleet solutions. We value collaborative problem-solving, data-driven decision-making, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
