Role Overview

AURA is seeking a motivated and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join our growing UK team.

This role sits at the centre of AURA’s commercial growth strategy and is responsible for identifying and securing new customer relationships across our security services portfolio, including security dispatch technology, alarm response, keyholding, mobile patrols and related security services.

You will manage the full sales lifecycle, from prospecting and qualifying opportunities through to presenting solutions, negotiating commercial terms and supporting the successful onboarding of new customers.

With a primary focus on new revenue generation, this role requires a proactive and disciplined approach to sales activity. The successful candidate will build a strong pipeline through consistent outreach, targeted engagement with decision-makers and the development of trusted client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities for AURA’s security services including dispatch technology, alarm response, keyholding, mobile patrols and related solutions.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline, from lead generation through to contract completion.
  • 50% of revenue will come from net new sales generated from outbound activity with 50% from inbound activity (the successful candidate will be comfortable making cold calls)
  • Proactively prospect new customers through networking, industry contacts, referrals and targeted outreach.
  • Meet with prospective customers to understand their security requirements and develop tailored service solutions.
  • Prepare and present commercial proposals, pricing structures and tender submissions.

Relationship Management

  • Build strong relationships with security installers, facilities managers, property managers, estates teams, construction firms and security decision-makers.
  • Maintain engagement with prospects throughout the sales cycle.
  • Work closely with internal operations teams to support the successful mobilisation of new customers.

Sales Performance

  • Achieve and exceed agreed monthly and annual revenue targets.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity and opportunities within the company CRM system.
  • Provide regular reporting on pipeline development, sales performance and market opportunities.

Market Development

  • Develop a strong understanding of the UK security services market, particularly access systems, control room operations, alarm response, keyholding and mobile security services.
  • Identify opportunities to expand AURA’s services into new sectors and geographic areas.
  • Represent AURA at industry events, networking groups and relevant trade forums where appropriate.


Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Minimum three years’ experience in a business development or sales role.
  • Demonstrable track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets selling to small, medium and large customers
  • Experience managing the full B2B sales cycle, from outbound prospecting through to closing deals.
  • Identifying and closing net new business from outbound activity
  • Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Highly organised with strong pipeline management capability.
  • Analytical and comfortable managing data and developing insights.
  • SaaS B2B sales experience with strong technology product knowledge.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Desirable

  • Experience within the security services industry, particularly:
    • Control Rooms and Alarm Receiving Centres
    • Security industry software systems
    • Keyholding
    • Alarm response
    • Mobile patrols
    • Guarding or monitoring services
  • Understanding of security industry standards and operating models.
  • MEDDPICC sales methodology experience

Salary and Benefits

  • Basic Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 depending on experience
  • Commission: Uncapped commission based on new business performance
  • Annual Bonus: Performance-based company bonus
