At Safe Alternative to Violent Environments (SAVE), we believe every individual deserves safety, dignity, and the opportunity to rebuild a healthy life. Our mission is to strengthen individuals and families with the knowledge, advocacy, and support needed to break the cycle of intimate partner violence. We are currently seeking a compassionate and dependable Safe House Program Assistant to help provide critical support to survivors staying in our Safe House.

As a Safe House Program Assistant, you will play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment for survivors and their families. This role combines crisis support, client advocacy, and facility care to ensure residents receive the services and stability they need during a critical time in their lives.
What You’ll Do
- Provide crisis intervention, advocacy, and peer support to Safe House residents and crisis line callers
- Assist with client intakes, exits, and case support
- Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized shelter environment
- Support the daily operations of the Safe House, including inventory, donations, and facility upkeep
- Document services and maintain accurate client records
- Collaborate with a dedicated team committed to trauma-informed, survivor-centered care

You are someone who:
- Demonstrates compassion, empathy, and cultural humility
- Remains calm and effective during crisis situations
- Is committed to ending gender-based violence
- Enjoys supporting both people and program operations
- Works well independently during overnight shifts
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Experience in domestic violence services, residential programs, or crisis support preferred
- Bilingual or bicultural experience a plus
- Valid California driver’s license and access to a vehicle required
- Willingness to work overnight, evening, or weekend shifts
