Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant based in Singapore to support the accounting and financial reporting functions of our US joint venture (JV). The role will focus on maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with USGAAP/local requirements where applicable, and coordinating closely with the US finance team and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle full sets of accounts or specified accounting functions for the US JV entity
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with US GAAP and internal reporting requirements
- Manage general ledger activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments
- Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow activities
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Support audit preparation and liaise with external auditors (US-based and/or global auditors)
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax requirements, and internal controls
- Coordinate with US-based finance teams to resolve accounting and reporting issues across time zones
- Assist in intercompany transactions, reconciliations, and consolidation reporting where applicable
- Support ad-hoc finance and accounting tasks or projects as required
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Professional certification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CA) preferred
- Minimum 3–6 years of accounting experience; exposure to US GAAP is an advantage
- Experience working with overseas entities or cross-border accounting preferred
- Strong understanding of full set accounting and financial reporting
- Proficiency in accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar)
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities across time zones
Preferred / Added Advantage
- Experience supporting US entities or joint ventures
- Familiarity with multi-currency accounting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proactive, responsible, and able to work with minimal supervision
