Impossible Cloud

DevOps Engineer - Infrastructure

Hamburg
full-timeEngineering

Job Description

ABOUT US:

Impossible Cloud is a fast-growing B2B cloud company headquartered in Hamburg, Germany. We have built a cloud object storage solution comparable to AWS S3, purpose-built and optimised for AI and compute workloads. Our commercial hyper-growth speaks for itself, powered by our channel-first go-to-market strategy.

We are now expanding beyond storage: we are building a high-performance compute platform, offering an end-to-end solution from GPU infrastructure to full GPU platform software stack. In doing so, we are redefining the cloud ecosystem by bridging the gap between decentralised infrastructure (DePIN), mainstream B2B cloud use cases, and AI applications.

Please note that we can only consider candidates who have a valid, unrestricted work permit for the EU.

As part of the Infrastructure team, you will design, build, and operate a highly scalable, secure, and automated platform that enables developers to deploy and run services reliably across multiple regions. You will be a key driver in turning complex infrastructure into simple, self-service building blocks for engineering teams, ensuring speed, stability, and resilience at scale.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD infrastructure to streamline and standardize service deployments.
  • Deploy and operate large-scale storage and database systems that support business-critical workloads.
  • Automate the rollout of new sites, regions, and environments, enabling fast and reliable global expansion.
  • Continuously improve existing infrastructure through automation, monitoring, and iterative enhancements.
  • Implement and enforce Kubernetes security best practices to protect infrastructure and applications.

WHAT YOU BRING:

  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure automation and deployment using Kubernetes, ArgoCD, Terraform, and Helm.
  • Strong understanding of modern DevOps and Platform Engineering practices (GitOps, Infrastructure as Code, etc.).
  • Solid knowledge of Kubernetes security and networking (RBAC, NetworkPolicies, Secrets, etc.).
  • Experience operating infrastructure on AWS and/or GCP, using cloud services for scalability, resilience, and automation.
  • Strong Linux fundamentals and shell scripting skills for automation and troubleshooting; experience with Golang or Python is a plus.
