Senior/ Lead Electrical Engineer - Oil & Gas | Offshore

Job Summary

Senior Electrical Engineer develops and maintains corporate technical standards, workflows, and engineering platforms for topside electrical systems. Provides expert engineering support across project phases to optimize design, ensure compliance, and drive technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update corporate technical standards and procedures for topside electrical systems to ensure practical and fit-for-purpose application
• Design and enhance topside engineering workflows and platforms to integrate electrical design data effectively
• Assist the Head of Discipline in managing the corporate topside electrical organization to support operational excellence
• Maintain and update the EPCI and O&M phase lesson learnt database to incorporate project insights and improve processes
• Conduct conceptual and feasibility studies to propose optimal and competitive technical solutions for projects
• Prepare and review engineering documents ensuring compliance with relevant design codes, standards, and client project specifications
• Provide engineering expertise to develop competitive proposals and optimize electrical design for efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance
• Review and support bid proposals by estimating manhours and costs accurately
• Act as the focal point for topside electrical discipline within project teams and maintain clear communication with clients
• Raise technical queries on project documents and design basis to clarify scope and requirements
• Manage interfaces with other disciplines to exchange necessary engineering information and support integrated project delivery
• Lead and manage the topside electrical discipline project team, including manpower planning and schedule control
• Address and close out comments and recommendations from HAZOP, Vendor HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, 3D model reviews, and constructability assessments
• Review vendor electrical deliverables to ensure technical quality and compliance
• Conduct contract electrical reviews for third-party consultants, such as ETAP studies, and manage their work scope and deliverables
• Supervise subcontractors to ensure design quality, deliverable standards, and adherence to project schedules
• Review and validate subcontractor deliverables for technical accuracy and quality
• Implement Management of Change processes to incorporate all design changes into as-built documentation
• Provide engineering support during construction, commissioning, and operational phases to resolve electrical issues
• Deliver expert technical advice to support decision-making on electrical-related challenges
• Ensure completeness and accuracy of as-built electrical deliverables
• Support operation and maintenance teams with engineering expertise
• Conduct troubleshooting and develop optimal technical solutions for electrical system issues
• Perform electrical engineering for facility modifications and revamp studies to meet project requirements

Required competencies and certifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline
• Minimum 10 years of experience in offshore or onshore oil and gas industry electrical engineering
