Job Summary
An MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Engineer designs, plans, and oversees the installation of core utility systems to ensure buildings are functional, safe, sustainable, and meet budget requirements.
Responsibilities
- Develop technical specifications, load calculations, and design layouts for HVAC (Mechanical), power distribution and lighting (Electrical), and water/waste networks (Plumbing) to ensure system functionality and compliance.
- Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to prevent system clashes and ensure cohesive project execution.
- Ensure all designs and plans comply with local building codes, fire regulations, and energy standards to maintain safety and regulatory adherence.
- Monitor on-site construction activities to verify subcontractors install MEP systems accurately according to blueprints and safety standards.
- Conduct inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of MEP systems to confirm optimal performance before project handover.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Proficient in Building Information Modeling (BIM) platforms and CAD software such as Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and Navisworks to produce accurate and detailed system designs.
- Apply strong analytical skills to perform complex calculations including heat load, electrical single-line diagrams, and piping layouts for precise system design.
- Demonstrate effective problem-solving, project management, and cross-team communication skills to drive project success.
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Possess professional certifications such as the Professional Engineer (PE) license or a PEB-recognized degree in Singapore, especially for senior roles.
