About this role:
At Faire we have a business unit focused on Retailer Growth that oversees core growth strategies from top of funnel, to onboarding, to helping Retailers get up and running to be successful on Faire. We are looking for a Senior Growth Engineer (Frontend or Backend) who thrives at the intersection of product, experimentation, and engineering.
We are looking for someone who wants to own meaningful business outcomes and impact, not just ship features. Depending on your strengths, you may focus primarily on frontend or backend systems, but you will operate with end-to-end ownership of growth initiatives and measurable impact. You will partner closely with Product, Design, Data Science, Analytics, and Marketing to turn hypotheses into experiments, and experiments into scalable growth engines.
What you’ll do:
- Own and deliver growth experiments end-to-end, from ideation to implementation and analysis.
- Build customer-facing features that improve funnel conversion, onboarding success, and engagement.
- Design and implement scalable APIs and services (backend focus) or intuitive, high-performance user interfaces (frontend focus).
- Partner with Data Science and Analytics to define success metrics and interpret experiment results.
- Contribute to experimentation frameworks and growth tooling infrastructure.
- Share ownership of product decisions and help shape growth strategy through technical insight.
- Write clean, secure, tested, and maintainable code that scales to millions of users.
- Help improve engineering quality, velocity, and operational efficiency within the Growth organization.
We’re excited about you because you:
- Have 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Have strong experience in either:
- Backend development (e.g., Kotlin, Java, C#, APIs, databases, distributed systems), or
- Frontend development (e.g., React, TypeScript/JavaScript, modern UI frameworks, performance optimization).
- Have shipped customer-facing features with measurable impact.
- Care deeply about experimentation, A/B testing, and data-informed decision making.
- Are comfortable working in fast-moving, hypothesis-driven environments.
- Take ownership and think beyond implementation, connecting technical decisions to business outcomes.
- Have a strong foundation in computer science fundamentals or equivalent industry experience.
- Are curious, resourceful, and excited to solve ambiguous problems.
Bonus / Nice to haves:
- Experience working on growth, activation, onboarding, or monetization teams.
- Experience leading major growth initiatives or owning a growth surface area.
- Experience in marketplace, e-commerce, or B2B SaaS environments.
- Familiarity with experimentation platforms and feature flagging systems.
- Experience collaborating closely with Data Science or Analytics teams.
- Exposure to lifecycle marketing, CRM systems, or data pipeline integrations.
Technologies we use & teach:
(Experience in similar technologies is welcomed)
- Backend: Kotlin, Java, JUnit, Hibernate, Guice, Jersey, MySQL, CockroachDB, AWS
- Frontend: React, TypeScript/JavaScript
- Infrastructure & Data: HTTP, JSON, Protocol Buffers, experimentation frameworks, analytics tooling
Salary range:

This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Hybrid Faire employees currently go into the office 3 days per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a third flex day of their choosing (Monday, Wednesday, or Friday).
