About This Role
We are looking for a Strategic Finance Lead to serve as the finance business partner to Faire’s People organization and lead the design and implementation of company-wide headcount planning tools and policy. This role will advise broader strategic finance strategy, reporting, and planning.
The Finance and Strategy Team’s mission is to maximize the long-term value of Faire by helping drive optimal investment decisions and by partnering on execution. We work closely with our cross-functional partners and bring a data-driven approach to analyzing business opportunities. We wear several hats at Faire including strategic growth planning, company-wide performance management, and business analytics. This role will partner with the CFO, Chief People Officer, and other senior leaders cross-functionally on financial budgeting, planning and forecasting to ultimately drive the best outcomes for the business.
What you’ll do:
- Act as the finance business partner to leadership across the People organization, including Recruiting, HR, and Compensation, providing financial analysis, decision support, and appropriate challenge.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve headcount planning tools, policies, and approval frameworks that enable the business to manage its most significant resource investment.
- Own the company-wide headcount reporting and forecasting process, including headcount variance analysis, cost modeling, and workforce planning insights for leadership.
- Partner with People leadership on compensation benchmarking analysis, benefits cost modeling, and other people-related financial analyses to support strategic decision-making.
- Develop and maintain reporting frameworks that provide leadership with clear visibility into people-related spend, productivity, and investment efficiency.
- Contribute to communications and key corporate reporting requirements to executives and board members (e.g. P&L, performance KPI tracking).
- Continuously improve and standardize reporting frameworks, systems, and processes across the corporate finance function.
Qualifications:
- 6+ years of relevant experience in FP&A, Strategic Finance, or Investment Banking with 3+ years of direct Corporate Finance experience. Experience as a finance business partner to People/HR functions is a strong plus.
- Strong business & financial acumen with understanding of technology or marketplace business models. Maintains a high bar for separating signal from noise.
- Headcount and workforce planning expertise with experience designing or managing headcount planning processes, tools, and policies at scale.
- Strong financial analytical capabilities.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills with the ability to synthesize data and metrics to tell a compelling story, and tailor content to different audiences.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to structure and manage complex cross-functional projects.
- Sharp attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or other relevant field.
Salary Range
New York City / San Francisco : the pay range for this role is $158,500 to $218,000 per year.
This role will also be eligible for equity and benefits. Actual base pay will be determined based on permissible factors such as transferable skills, work experience, market demands, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Hybrid Faire employees currently go into the office 3 days per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a third flex day of their choosing (Monday, Wednesday, or Friday). Additionally, hybrid in-office roles will have the flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks per year. Specific Workplace and Information Technology positions may require onsite attendance 5 days per week as will be indicated in the job posting.
