Investment Analyst
Job Description
About The Role:
A Single-Family Office in Singapore is seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven Investment Analyst to support the management of a diversified multi-asset portfolio. This is a research-focused, principal-supporting role that sits at the heart of the family office's investment function, providing rigorous analysis, market intelligence, and portfolio insights to inform strategic decision-making.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned investment professional with strong fundamental and quantitative skills, comfortable working independently across multiple asset classes and operating with a high degree of ownership within a lean, high-trust environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Investment Research & Analysis
- Conduct in-depth fundamental and quantitative research across equities, fixed income, and alternative strategies to identify investment opportunities and assess downside risk
- Monitor global macroeconomic trends, market developments, and sector-specific dynamics to generate timely and actionable investment insights
- Support the evaluation and due diligence of external fund managers and third-party investment mandates, assessing alignment with the family office's investment philosophy
- Source and track new investment ideas through market research, industry publications, and established networks
Portfolio Support & Monitoring
- Assist in the monitoring and analysis of the multi-asset portfolio, covering public and private equities, fixed income, and alternative strategies
- Support asset allocation reviews and portfolio rebalancing exercises by providing data-driven analysis and scenario modelling
- Track portfolio performance, attribution, and risk metrics on an ongoing basis, flagging material developments to senior stakeholders
Reporting & Stakeholder Communication
- Prepare consolidated portfolio performance reports, investment commentary, and risk dashboards for the principal and key family stakeholders
- Summarise investment recommendations and market outlooks in a clear, structured format to support principal-level decision-making
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date investment records, databases, and documentation across the portfolio
Relationship & Operational Support
- Liaise with external advisors, fund managers, custodians, private banks, and brokers to gather information and support portfolio operations
- Assist with compliance and governance matters in line with MAS regulatory requirements applicable to the family office structure
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of investment processes, reporting systems, and operational workflows within the family office
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline
- CFA charterholder or actively pursuing the CFA designation is preferred
- At least 7 years of investment experience, with a demonstrated track record across multi-asset portfolios in a buy-side or sell-side environment — this is a non-negotiable requirement
- Proven hands-on experience across multiple asset classes including public and private equities, fixed income, and alternative strategies
- Strong analytical capabilities including financial modelling, risk assessment, and portfolio attribution analysis
- Proficiency in investment research tools and data platforms (Bloomberg, FactSet, or equivalent)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex investment ideas clearly and concisely
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion, given the confidential nature of family office environments
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision in a lean team setting
