Senior/Research Assistant

Job Description & Requirements We have a job opening for a Research Assistant position at the Bio-inspired Robotics and Design Laboratory (https://brd.sutd.edu.sg) at SUTD. The role: The Research Assistant (RA) will support fundamental and applied research in dexterous manipulation and grasping by developing novel soft and hybrid mechanisms, actuation, and sensing technologies for next-generation applications in both harsh and delicate environments. We are looking for researchers with a passion for design, innovation, addvanced fabrication approaches and keen to work with a multi-disciplinary team. Responsibilities: • Mechanism design and prototyping for a variety of industrial grasping applications • Design and run manipulation and grasping experiments in both laboratory environments and real application environments Key requirements:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineer, Robotics, or related fields

• Experience with Mechanism Design

• Experience in Additive Manufacturing

• Experience with SolidWorks, Rhino, Grasshopper

• Experience with Embedded systems, Nvidia Jetson, Raspberry Pi, Arduino, ESP32

• Experience with Machine Learning Libraries and Tools: PyTorch, TensorFlow, OpenCV, YOLO
