Senior Welder
Job Description
The Senior Welder is responsible for performing high-quality welding, fabrication, and repair works on engine components, piping systems, and associated structures to meet engineering and customer specifications. This role involves leading complex welding assignments, mentoring junior welders, and ensuring adherence to quality, safety, and productivity standards in MAN Energy Solutions Singapore’s workshop and on-site locations. The Senior Welder may be required to travel and perform welding activities on vessels or shipyards as per project requirements.
Perform various welding processes (e.g., SMAW, GTAW, MIG, TIG) on ferrous and non-ferrous materials according to approved procedures and specifications.
Lead and execute welding repairs and fabrication of engine parts, piping, and metal structures in workshop and field environments.
Interpret welding drawings, engineering specifications, and work instructions to plan welding sequences and techniques.
Conduct welding inspections, dimensional checks, and ensure welds meet quality standards and tolerances.
Supervise or guide junior welders to ensure safe, efficient, and quality work execution.
Perform post-weld heat treatment and surface finishing activities as required.
Operate related equipment and machinery (e.g., plasma cutters, grinders) safely and effectively.
Complete weld documentation, inspection reports, and job cards in compliance with project requirements.
Maintain welding consumables, equipment, and work areas in accordance with safety and 5S standards.
Travel to customer sites, shipyards, or vessels for on-site welding assignments, including boarding of vessels and adherence to marine/offshore safety protocols.
