Trade Lane Director Long Haul Trades (TPEB/FEWB/LATAM)

Job Summary

As the Trade Lane Director, Ocean Trade Lane Management – Long Haul Trades (TPEB / FEWB / LATAM), you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing LOGISTEED’s ocean trade strategy across long-haul trade lanes. This role goes beyond procurement—it’s about forging strategic partnerships with carriers and internal business units, optimizing trade lane performance, and delivering value to our clients.

Success in this role requires both strategic vision and hands-on execution, working cross-functionally to develop competitive trade strategies, enhance procurement excellence, and drive market expansion across the assigned long-haul corridors.

Geographical Scope of Trade Ownership:

• Asia (non-Japan) to Europe
• Asia (non-Japan) to Americas

This role is based in Singapore or Hong Kong and reports to the Head of Global Trade Lane Management.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute FCL/LCL trade strategies for Asia (non-Japan)-Europe and Asia (non-Japan)-Americas, identifying growth opportunities and responding to market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.
• Own the Asia (non-Japan)-Europe and Asia (non-Japan)-Americas Trade Lane P&L and drive volume growth across all relevant corridors.
• Build and maintain strong carrier relationships to secure competitive rates, enhance service offerings, and drive procurement excellence.
• Collaborate with Business Units to develop pricing models, customer-centric solutions, and oversee RFQ responses aligned with trade lane profitability goals.
• Optimize trade lanes by balancing carrier capacity with demand, addressing underperformance, and ensuring cross-functional alignment.
• Lead trade lane performance reviews to enhance visibility, decision-making, and innovation across the Asia (non-Japan) region.
• Drive collaboration with BU Ocean Leaders within scope.
• Support and help deliver new clients with sizeable volumes on focus trade lanes

Performance Indicators

This is a key cross-functional role within LOGISTEED and will be measured based on:

• Volume Growth
• Total Trade Lane Profitability

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in freight forwarding, with at least 3 years in a leadership role focused on trade lane development, pricing, and procurement.
• Possess strong relationships with carriers and logistics partners.
• Proven ability to execute strategies across cross-functional teams including sales, product, and carrier management.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate across multicultural and cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and business analysis tools
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
