Our client is a company trading of steel/ energy raw materials, machinery and equipment is looking to hire an EXECUTIVE - TRADE OPERATIONS
Job Summary
As a Trade Operations Executive, you will support contract drafting, execution, and compliance processes while coordinating with stakeholders to ensure seamless trade operations in steel and energy raw materials trading.
Responsibilities
- Draft, prepare, and review contracts and related documentation to ensure alignment with trade finance requirements and deal confirmations including specifications, price, and shipping terms
- Collaborate with buyers, suppliers, and internal teams to facilitate smooth contract execution and ensure adherence to agreed terms and conditions
- Maintain and update the contract data register accurately to support operational transparency
- Liaise with buyers, suppliers, and freight teams to coordinate logistics details, vessel nomination, acceptance, and issuance of shipping instructions
- Verify shipping documents against Letter of Credit (LC) terms and support Bill of Lading checking, switching, and Letters of Indemnity (LOI) preparation
- Assist in laytime calculations and negotiate laytime terms with relevant parties to optimize shipping schedules
- Engage with load port and discharge port agents to ensure smooth port operations and timely cargo handling
- Follow up with clients to facilitate the issuance of Letters of Credit and support financial transaction processes
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in trade operations or a similar role
- In-depth knowledge of contract drafting, negotiation, and trade finance principles
- Familiarity with shipping documentation and Letter of Credit terms
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Experience working with coal or iron ore trading operations
Other Information
Working days: Monday to Friday, 5-day work week
Work location: Raffles Place
Compensation: S$5,000.00 - S$6,000.00 (negotiable)
