Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Officer (Accounts Receivable) to manage end-to-end accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely billing, collections, reconciliations, and accurate financial records while supporting month-end closing and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Issue customer statements of account promptly and record them accurately in the accounting system to maintain up-to-date financial data
• Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and actively follow up on outstanding balances to improve cash flow
• Manage and pursue overdue payments and irregular accounts to minimize credit risk
• Perform bank and accounts receivable reconciliations to verify accuracy of receipts and transactions
• Process refunds with appropriate approvals and maintain complete supporting documentation for audit compliance
• Execute daily accounting postings in the system to ensure accurate financial records
• Prepare and process debit and credit notes to adjust customer accounts as needed
• Support month-end closing activities by preparing journal entries and assisting in financial reporting to meet deadlines
• Perform ad-hoc finance and accounting tasks as assigned to support team objectives

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Recognised Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance functions
• Proficient in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing collaboratively to team goals
• Good communication and organisational skills to coordinate effectively with stakeholders
