Role Overview
The Key Account Specialist (KAS) supports the management of strategic customer
accounts while independently managing and growing a portfolio of assigned customer
accounts. This role combines account coordination, commercial execution, and business
development responsibilities. The Key Account Specialist serves as a key commercial
interface between customers and Fu Yu, ensuring customer requirements are met while
identifying and developing growth opportunities within assigned accounts.
For assigned customers, the Key Account Specialist is responsible for account
performance, customer satisfaction, and revenue growth. The KAS is expected to
proactively identify opportunities for new programs, product expansions, and long-term
account development. The role also supports Key Account Managers in executing strategies for larger strategic accounts and ensuring effective coordination across Fu Yu’s multi-site manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assigned Account Management & Growth
- Manage a portfolio of assigned customer accounts
- Serve as the primary commercial contact for assigned customers
- Maintain strong working relationships with customer stakeholders
- Understand customers’ products and business needs
- Identify new business opportunities within assigned accounts
- Drive growth through new programs and product expansions
- Follow up on new opportunities and RFQs
- Support customer sourcing activities
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
- Support continuation and expansion of existing programs
- Identify risks and opportunities within assigned accounts
2. Account Development & Business Growth
- Proactively identify growth opportunities within assigned accounts
- Support introduction of new manufacturing capabilities to customers
- Identify opportunities for additional parts or assemblies
- Engage customers on upcoming programs
- Track and develop sales opportunities
- Support preparation of business proposals
- Work with engineering teams on feasibility discussions
- Follow up on opportunity status
- Maintain opportunity pipeline for assigned accounts
- Support conversion of opportunities into production programs
3. Strategic Account Support
- Support Key Account Managers in managing strategic accounts
- Assist in coordinating customer requirements
- Support preparation for customer meetings and reviews
- Assist in tracking account performance
- Support customer requests and action items
- Assist in opportunity tracking
- Support commercial activities
- Assist in customer communications when required
- Support strategic account initiatives
4. Quotation & Commercial Activities
- Coordinate RFQs for assigned and supported accounts
- Ensure RFQ information is complete
- Work with engineering teams on feasibility discussions
- Coordinate costing inputs
- Prepare quotations and commercial submissions
- Track quotation timelines
- Follow up with customers on quotations
- Support price revisions where required
- Maintain quotation records
- Support tooling quotation coordination
5. Project & Program Coordination
- Support transition from quotation to NPI
- Track project timelines and milestones
- Follow up on engineering deliverables
- Support sample build coordination
- Assist in design review coordination
- Track project milestones
- Support project handovers to operations
- Coordinate project updates to customers
- Track open project issues
- Support documentation preparation
6. Cross-Site Coordination
- Coordinate activities across Fu Yu sites in Singapore, Malaysia, and China
- Align customer requirements with site capabilities
- Support communication between sites
- Track site deliverables
- Support production transfers where required
- Support tooling movements
- Assist in coordinating multi-site programs
- Track cross-site action items
7. Customer Issue Coordination
- Track customer issues and complaints
- Coordinate with quality and operations teams
- Follow up on corrective actions
- Support customer updates
- Maintain issue tracking logs
- Support preparation of customer responses
- Assist in root cause follow-ups
8. Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain customer account records
- Track opportunity pipeline
- Maintain quotation records
- Support sales forecasts
- Prepare account reports
- Support account reviews
- Maintain project documentation
- Update internal systems
- Support preparation of presentations

Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Fresh graduates with Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline
- Candidates with 1–3 years of relevant experience will have an advantage
- Prior experience in account management, sales support, customer service (B2B environment), or project coordination (manufacturing-related) is preferred
- Demonstrated ability (or strong potential) to:
1) Manage customer accounts independently
2) Coordinate RFQs, quotations, and project follow-ups
3) Work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and quality teams
- Exposure to manufacturing environments such as precision plastics, tooling, EMS, or contract manufacturing is an advantage
- Internship experience in sales, engineering, or manufacturing will be considered a plus
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes or willingness to learn
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
