Customer Service Officer cum Permit Declarant

Working Location: 3 Clementi Loop S129815

Working Hours:

Mondays to Fridays: 0800hrs to 1700hrs

Alternate Saturdays: 0800hrs to 1200hrs

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the daily service operations to improve the operating standard, inventory management, customer service, quality and efficiency of the service operations.
• Assist in customer service and inventory control to ensure prompt and good services delivered, and provide prompt rectification to remedy any service delivery deficiencies identified.
• Do employ best practices in the functions of service standard setting, operations, inventory control, and customers service for the most efficient and effective approach.
• Be responsible to:

1. maintain customer files with quotations and prepare internal approval form and other information.
2. manage and monitor shipping status and documentation formalities with hauliers and shipping companies to ensure proper and timely import/export of containers.
3. ensure the correct Harmonised Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification is used for permit declarations.
4. prepare and ensure proper and accurate (Customs / Tradenet) permits and clearance are obtained for import, export and duty payment.
5. liaise with Customs on permit declaration discrepancies and queries related to TradeFirst renewal process.
6. ensure proper and timely closing of all job files and confirmation of Customs duties payment from Customers.
7. generate inventory report and email invoices to all customers on a monthly basis or as when required.

• Adopt knowledge to provide good operational services and put in place a process of continuous professional development.
• Review and propose correction processes as and when necessary.
• Review performance and/or processes periodically.
• Maintain harmonious relations with other divisions/departments.
• Be self-motivated to enhance productivity and perform other tasks as assigned by the superior/Management.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 3-5 years of relevant experience in the warehouse/logistics field preferred.
• Minimum diploma in Logistics or equivalent
• Experienced in Licensed Warehouse environment and/or requirements for Customs’ compliance including Customs Permit Declaration.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
