Job Description

Job Summary

Support the Commercial Department by conducting market research, managing tendering processes, preparing contract documentation, and handling commercial and cost-related reporting to ensure effective project commercial management.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Project Manager, Deputy Project Manager (Commercial), or Commercial Manager to align commercial activities with project goals
  • Conduct bi-weekly construction market resource research and prepare detailed analysis reports to inform decision-making
  • Prepare, review, and edit tender, bidding, and contract documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
  • Assist in contract negotiation, clarification, and variation processes to support project commercial objectives
  • Manage tendering processes for project subcontracting to secure competitive and compliant bids
  • Conduct subcontract pricing research and cost analysis, preparing comprehensive reports to guide budgeting and cost control
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with subcontractors on commercial matters to maintain strong working relationships
  • Prepare commercial and cost-related reports and statistics to track project financial performance
  • Handle progress claims, valuations, and settlements with clients and subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate payments
  • Support overall project commercial management activities to contribute to project success
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Company to support department needs

Required competencies and certifications

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor or in construction commercial management
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Engineering Budget Management from a recognised institution
  • Ability to meet site access and security requirements to work in Jurong Island

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Relevant experience in Singapore construction cost budgeting and commercial practices
  • Relevant training or certification in contract or commercial management
  • Ability to commence work within short notice
