Job Description
Design Leadership
– Lead design and technical delivery across complex, high-profile projects spanning residential, commercial, and hospitality typologies, maintaining consistently high creative standards.
– Champion design innovation within the studio — setting the bar for quality, encouraging bold ideas, and ensuring every project reflects SOG Design's commitment to thoughtful, place-specific architecture.
– Mentor and develop junior and mid-level designers through hands-on guidance, constructive feedback, and fostering a culture of curiosity and collaboration.
– Drive brainstorming sessions and design reviews, shaping the creative direction of multiple concurrent projects.
Project and Client Management
– Own and manage the full project lifecycle — from brief through construction documentation and site delivery — ensuring design integrity, programme adherence, and budget awareness at every stage.
– Serve as the primary client liaison on key accounts; build and sustain trusted relationships that generate repeat business and referrals.
– Lead client presentations with clarity and confidence, translating complex design concepts into compelling narratives for diverse audiences.
– Collaborate closely with Directors on project strategy, fee structures, and scope management, ensuring financial targets and resource allocations are met.
– Coordinate cross-disciplinary consultants and contractors across APAC projects,proactively resolving design and technical challenges.
Business Development and Studio Culture
– Actively support business development initiatives — contributing to fee proposals, tender documents, and client pitches alongside senior leadership.
– Represent SOG Design at industry events, forums, and professional networks to elevate the studio's profile and identify new opportunities.
– Initiate and participate in knowledge-sharing activities: workshops, peer reviews, and studio-wide learning sessions.
– Contribute to a studio culture where best practices are shared openly, diverse perspectives are valued, and high performance is the norm.
Collaboration& Studio Culture
– Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, contributing positively to team dynamics and creative discussions.
– Support junior team members, sharing knowledge and providing guidance where appropriate.
– Engage proactively with new design tools, emerging technologies, and industry trends to enhance studio capabilities.
