Permanent Therapy Associate
Job Purpose
We are seeking a proactive and client-centered professional to join a collaborative, multidisciplinary healthcare team (including Physiotherapists, Speech Therapists, Nurses, Social Workers, and Training Officers). In this role, you will deliver high-quality, safe, and cost-efficient occupational therapy services to help clients restore and maintain their functional independence.
Working under the guidance of a Therapist, you will assess clients, execute individualized treatment plans, and educate caregivers on ongoing care and condition management. Additionally, you will oversee a team of Therapy Aides, managing their workload distribution, guiding their daily activities, and supporting their competency development.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Operations
- Perform clinical assessments for clients and design tailored occupational therapy treatment plans.
- Establish appropriate, realistic rehabilitation and treatment goals for residents.
- Execute day-to-day occupational therapy interventions and treatments.
- Support the Occupational Therapist with clinical administration, departmental workflows, and operational tasks.
- Review, update, and maintain clinical guidelines to ensure a high standard of professional practice.
Team Leadership & Training
- Supervise, guide, and monitor Therapy Aides during their daily therapy activities.
- Conduct occupational therapy training and skill-sharing sessions for departmental colleagues and support staff.
- Manage team competencies, tasks, and workload distribution efficiently.
Professional Development & Ad-Hoc Duties
- Engage actively in continuous education, quality improvement projects, and research initiatives.
- Maintain a high benchmark of professional conduct and show strong sensitivity to client needs.
- Carry out any other duties or projects assigned by the organization's management.
Job Requirements
- A Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy
- Candidates with 4 to 6 years of relevant working experience is preferred
- Advantage for those with experience working with persons with autism, intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
