We are exclusively partnering with a leading global investment bank on a confidential search for an AVP, Operations Governance & Transformation to join its regional Operations function in Singapore.

This is a highly visible role that sits at the intersection of operations governance, stakeholder management, process transformation, automation, and operational risk oversight. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management, business stakeholders, offshore teams, and service providers to ensure robust operational controls while driving strategic improvement initiatives across the organisation.

The Opportunity

As part of the regional Shared Services Oversight team, you will provide governance and oversight across a range of operational functions supporting Asia ex-Japan businesses.

Beyond traditional oversight responsibilities, the team is increasingly focused on:

  • Process optimisation and workflow redesign

  • Automation and digitisation initiatives

  • Data analytics and operational intelligence

  • AI-driven solutions to improve efficiency and control effectiveness

  • Strategic change management and transformation projects

This is not a processing role. Instead, it offers broad exposure across Operations, Front Office, Middle Office, Technology and senior management, making it an excellent platform for candidates seeking a long-term leadership and management career path.

Key Responsibilities

Governance & Oversight

  • Oversee operational control frameworks across multiple shared service functions.

  • Monitor service delivery standards, governance requirements and SLA adherence across internal teams, offshore service centres and third-party vendors.

  • Identify operational risks, control weaknesses and remediation opportunities.

  • Ensure robust escalation and issue management processes are maintained.

Transformation & Process Improvement

  • Drive operational efficiency initiatives and business process improvements.

  • Identify manual processes suitable for automation and digitisation.

  • Partner with stakeholders to redesign workflows and improve control effectiveness.

  • Support strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing scalability, productivity and service quality.

Automation, AI & Data Analytics

  • Leverage technology and data-driven approaches to improve operational performance.

  • Champion automation opportunities using tools such as Python, VBA, Power Platform, Alteryx or similar technologies.

  • Partner with Technology teams to implement workflow automation and process enhancements.

  • Explore and help drive AI-related initiatives that improve reporting, analysis, controls, exception management and operational decision-making.

  • Analyse operational data and management information to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities.

Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with Operations, Front Office, Middle Office, Technology and Corporate Functions.

  • Gather requirements, coordinate initiatives and communicate updates across multiple stakeholder groups.

  • Prepare management reporting and present findings, recommendations and project updates to senior stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience within financial services, ideally in investment banking, capital markets, or operations.

  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills with the ability to work across multiple teams and seniority levels.

  • Proven track record in governance, process improvement, operational change, project delivery, or business management initiatives.

  • Knowledge of investment banking operations such as settlements, confirmations, corporate actions, or vendor/offshore team management is advantageous.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset.

  • Experience with automation, data analytics, or technology-driven initiatives, including tools such as Python, VBA, Power BI, Alteryx, or AI solutions, would be highly valued.

  • Individuals who can combine strong business acumen with a technology and transformation mindset will be particularly attractive for this opportunity.
