Privacy Support Specialist (Korean-Speaking)
Working Hours: Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm SGT
12 Months Contract
Role Overview
We are seeking a Privacy Support Specialist to serve as the primary point of contact for user privacy inquiries directed to designated Local Agent in South Korea under the Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). This role is critical to ensuring compliance with Korean privacy regulations by providing accessible, human-supported inquiry channels for users.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and respond to inbound telephone calls from users in South Korea regarding privacy-related matters
- Accurately capture user inquiry details, including contact information, nature of complaint, and relevant account identifiers
- Provide courteous, professional assistance to users in Korean language
- Assess and categorize incoming inquiries based on established criteria (privacy requests, account issues, data subject rights, etc.)
- Complete standardized intake forms and upload to the internal systems for processing by Privacy Operations
- Ensure valid privacy inquiries are forwarded to Privacy Operations within agreed SLA.
- Maintain accurate records of all user interactions in accordance with data handling standards
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for handling user complaints and data protection inquiries
- Participate in mandatory annual training on Local Agent duties and PIPA compliance requirements
- Support regulatory inspections and audits as required
- Provide regular reports on inquiry volumes, trends, and escalation patterns
- Assist in the notification and reporting of personal information leaks as directed
Required Qualifications
- Language: Native-level fluency in Korean (written and spoken) as this person will be handling all enquiries from Native Korean; professional proficiency in English for internal communication.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in customer support, privacy operations, compliance, or related administrative roles
- Availability: Ability to work Korean business hours (KST)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
- Proficiency with standard office software and ability to learn internal tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in privacy, data protection, or regulatory compliance roles
- Familiarity with data subject rights (access, deletion, correction requests)
- Prior experience working with global technology companies
- Understanding of PIPA or other data protection regulations
