Quantity Surveyor
Job Description
Established contractor in underground electrical cable laying and gas pipe laying projects with SP Group and Singapore gas infrastructure projects.
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as a Quantity Surveyor.
This role is suitable for candidates who possess strong QS capabilities together with technical understanding of M&E engineering works, particularly infrastructure and utility-related projects.
Job Responsibilities
• Prepare quantity take-offs, cost estimation, budgeting, and project costing.
• Handle tender preparation, submission, and evaluation.
• Source and obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Review technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Perform material costing analysis and maintain up-to-date market pricing knowledge.
• Attend clarification meetings and liaise directly with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors.
• Conduct face-to-face discussions with customers for technical and commercial clarification.
• Perform variation claims, progress claims, and final accounts.
• Coordinate very closely with project and engineering teams during tender and project execution stages.
• Ensure tenders are submitted within deadlines and in compliance with project requirements.
Requirements
• Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in QS and tendering works.
• Experience in underground utility projects, electrical cable laying, gas pipe laying, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
• Able to read and interpret technical and construction drawings.
• Strong knowledge of M&E systems, materials, and costing.
• Good negotiation and communication skills.
• Price-sensitive with strong commercial awareness.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and tender/costing documentation.
Preferred Skills
• Familiarity with Singapore utility infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of Singapore construction and utility industry practices.
• Experience dealing with utility authorities, consultants, and subcontractors.
• Familiar with local contracts framework
