We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to support our site machinery and ensure operational efficiency. You will execute daily troubleshooting and perform critical quarterly preventive maintenance.
This role requires a hands-on professional ready to adapt to a 5.5-day work week and flexible after-office hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute quarterly maintenance: Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance on robotic dispensing machines.
- Troubleshoot mechanical faults: Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns quickly to prevent disruption to healthcare operations.
- Respond to after-office calls: Attend to emergency breakdowns and urgent repairs during after-office hours and weekends.
- Comply with healthcare standards: Follow Ministry of Health (MOH) guidelines and hospital infection control protocols during maintenance.
- Manage inventory: Monitor spare parts stock levels for critical machinery and initiate procurement requests.
- Keep detailed logs: Maintain accurate, audit-ready records of all servicing, repairs, and technical inspections.
Requirements
- Experience: 3 to 4 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience, preferably in a hospital or medical facility.
- Education: NITEC, Higher NITEC, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent..
- Other Competencies: Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and circuit diagrams.
- Communication: Ability to communicate clearly in English with hospital staff and external vendors.
Working Hours & Conditions
- Work Schedule: 5.5 days per week (Monday to Friday, half-day on Saturday).
- After-Office Support: Required to participate in an after-office hours on-call standby roster for emergency repairs.
- Work Environment: Healthcare facility setting requiring strict adherence to hygiene, safety, and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols.
