Team structure

The Change and Adoption Specialist will work under their own initiative as well as the guidance of the Change and Adoption Manager, who is based in London, to deliver a first-class training experience that supports the firm in its goal to work efficiently and effectively. The role will require an assured trainer who can take ownership of any situation and drive success for the firm as well as the team.  You will be the “face” of Change and Adoption for the Asia offices.

Main responsibilities

You will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our legal professionals and support staff, primarily for the Asia offices, are well-equipped with the necessary technological skills to excel in their role. Working closely with the Change and Adoption Manager, you will be designing and implementing comprehensive technology training programs, to support the goal of driving efficiency across the firm.

  • Engage with the business to understand their training requirements.
  • Deliver induction training ensuring all new joiners get a positive and welcome experience to the firm and that they can pick up the tools fast to enable them to seamlessly get to work within the firm.
  • Create and deliver training materials including infomercials, video and written guides to suit all learning types and to drive home adoption.
  • Create and maintain training materials, manuals, and online resources to support technology training initiatives globally, ensuring content is up to date and relevant to our fee earners.
  • Stay abreast of emerging AI and legal technology trends and integrate relevant content into training programs.
  • Customise training for Practice Groups or departments to support them successfully in their work.
  • Attend regular meetings with key business teams to understand areas of improvement and where adoption of new technologies may add value to daily activities.
  • Develop in-person and virtual training plans to provide regular drop-in sessions on key topics for users across Asia.
  • Own and develop regional office newsletters promoting the latest updates and developments in line with the global Technology strategy.
  • Work closely with the regional IT System Engineers to identify common issues and areas for improvement and feed this back into the Asia Technology Manager.
  • Work with the Innovation team to improve collaboration and drive adoption of new technologies in the region.
  • Represent the voice-of-the-customer to the Asia Technology team and Change & Adoption team.
  • Proactive promotion of the Technology function across Greater China, Seoul and Singapore.

Attributes / Skills required

  • Strong command of the English language.
  • Natural and engaging ability to build relationships at all levels with confidence.
  • Can quickly and confidently build solid relationships within such areas as project management, service management and engineers to understand what training and activities are needed to improve understanding at BAU and project level.
  • Can conduct engaging in-person and virtual training sessions on legal software, document management systems, case management tools, and other technology platforms relevant to the firm.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills in a face to face and virtual set up.
  • Flexibility and a professional approach, ready for anything and well prepared.
  • Dynamic self-starter, capable of working under their own initiative.
  • Team-oriented and hardworking
  • Excellent prioritising skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Willing to be office present 4+ days a week and travel when needed to other Stephenson Harwood offices, specifically within Asia.

Experience required

  • Experience of change management activities.
  • Relevant experience in the legal environment or other professional services
  • Knowledge and experience of Windows 11, Microsoft 365 apps and legal tools used within] the industry (i.e. InTapp, Aderant, iManage to name a few).
  • Proven proficiency in producing and updating training guides, handouts and other materials to a high standard with strong attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in the development of engaging e-learning materials, including audio recording and publishing using tools such as Camtasia, Articulate 360 or similar.
  • DocuSign and CoPilot experience would be beneficial.
