Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee all marine insurance policies, ensuring adequate coverage and timely renewals.
  • Coordinate and handle insurance claims, working with underwriters, surveyors, and legal teams to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Conduct risk assessments and advise on insurance-related risk management strategies.
  • Develop and implement insurance policies and procedures aligned with company objectives and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of insurance contracts, claims, and correspondence.
  • Monitor changes in marine insurance regulations and market trends, adapting strategies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure all operations comply with insurance terms and conditions.
  • Negotiate insurance premiums and terms with brokers and insurers to achieve cost-effective solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Insurance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in marine insurance management, preferably within the shipping or maritime industry.
  • Strong knowledge of marine insurance policies, claims handling, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant insurance and risk management software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Open to those not in managerial positions to step up
