Job Description

Skills Required:

  • Possess a Class 3 driving license; experience operating survey or utility detection vehicles is an advantage.

  • Proven experience in underground utility detection, mapping, and surveying across varied site conditions.

  • Proficiency in the use of Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) and other utility detection equipment (e.g. cable locators, electromagnetic devices).

  • Relevant certifications in GPR operation, underground utility surveying/mapping, or workplace safety are advantageous.

Job Description:

  • Conduct underground utility surveys using GPR and other detection methods to accurately locate and map subsurface utilities.

  • Operate, maintain, and calibrate GPR and associated survey equipment to ensure data accuracy and reliability.

  • Perform site assessments and interpret survey data to identify utilities such as water, gas, electrical, and telecommunications services.

  • Prepare detailed survey reports, drawings, and documentation based on findings, in accordance with project requirements.

  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand survey scope, objectives, and timelines.

  • Ensure all survey activities comply with relevant safety standards, regulations, and company procedures.

  • Coordinate with other surveyors and technical personnel to ensure efficient data collection and project delivery.

Additional Requirements:

  • Physically fit and able to carry out fieldwork, including handling equipment and working outdoors for extended periods.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with clients and stakeholders.

  • Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or weekends when required by project needs.
