Job Description

Antares Management Services is building a pool of qualified Basketball Referees for an anticipated sports officiating project involving school basketball competitions from 2027 to 2029.

The Basketball Referee will be responsible for officiating assigned matches fairly, consistently, and professionally in accordance with applicable basketball rules and competition requirements.

Appointment and deployment are subject to project award, client approval, competition schedule, and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Officiate basketball matches in accordance with NSG, FIBA, and competition rules
  • Ensure fair, consistent, and impartial decision-making throughout matches
  • Interpret and apply basketball rules accurately during live game situations
  • Maintain control of the game and manage player, coach, and bench conduct professionally
  • Communicate clearly with fellow referees, table officials, coaches, and organisers
  • Provide concise explanations where required during disputes or clarification requests
  • Report punctually to assigned venues before match commencement
  • Wear proper officiating attire during duty
  • Attend required briefing sessions before deployment
  • Maintain professionalism, neutrality, and discipline at all times

Requirements

  • Must possess Basketball Association of Singapore certification or equivalent officiating certification
  • Prior basketball officiating experience is required
  • NSG, school competition, NBL, regional, or international officiating experience will be advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of current basketball rules, NSG requirements, and FIBA rules
  • Able to make quick, fair, and confident decisions during matches
  • Good communication and conflict management skills
  • Must not have conflict of interest with participating schools or teams
  • Must not have disciplinary records or ongoing investigations with relevant authorities or associations
  • Able to commit to assigned competition dates and venues
  • Must be punctual, reliable, impartial, and physically able to officiate matches

Salary / Rate

To be confirmed based on assignment, deployment volume, and project requirements.

Working Hours

Based on assigned match schedules. Competition periods may vary by division and year.
