Job Summary
The Import Planning Executive is responsible for overseeing end-to-end import and export planning activities to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective movement of goods. This role supports demand and supply planning, maintains optimal inventory levels, and ensures timely delivery across domestic and international markets.
This role is based in Tampines North.
Key Responsibilities
Import Planning
- Manage the full order cycle for inventory, coordinating with suppliers and distribution centres to ensure timely deliveries.
- Collaborate with Supply & Demand Planners to incorporate accurate market information into forecasts.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to plan for promotions, festive build-ups, new product launches, excess stock, and product discontinuations.
- Monitor shipment schedules, proactively resolving delays, discrepancies, and customs clearance issues.
- Address supplier fulfilment problems and submit claims in line with SOPs.
- Provide feedback to Category Managers on cost changes and regulatory compliance issues.
- Track KPIs, drive performance improvements, and conduct root cause analysis.
- Ensure compliance with processes and audits, highlighting exceptions.
- Perform monthly cost accruals and manage cost conditions for exceptions.
- Handle supplier payment closures and reconcile Statements of Account (SOA).
- Manage operational licenses and permits to meet regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for all import activities.
Export Planning
- Prepare export documentation including permits, certificates of origin, and declarations.
- Coordinate export shipments based on customer orders and delivery timelines.
- Liaise with freight forwarders and transport providers to arrange shipments.
- Ensure compliance with destination country regulations and trade requirements.
- Monitor export order fulfilment and track shipments.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Business Management, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related discipline.
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in import/export operations or supply chain planning.
- Good knowledge of forecasting, data analytics, inventory planning, supply chain concepts, and statistical forecasting.
- Proficiency in data analysis and planning tools; advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
