Technical Superintendent (Bulk)

Responsibilities

• Oversee the technical management and maintenance of assigned bulk carrier vessels.
• Ensure vessels comply with international maritime regulations, class requirements and company policies.
• Plan, monitor and control vessel repair and maintenance activities.
• Prepare and manage vessel operating budgets, including OPEX and CAPEX expenditures.
• Coordinate and supervise dry-docking projects, repairs and upgrades.
• Monitor vessel performance, fuel consumption and machinery efficiency.
• Liaise with ship crews, classification societies, flag administrations and external vendors.
• Investigate technical incidents, equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure timely procurement of spare parts, technical equipment and services.
• Conduct vessel inspections and provide technical support to onboard teams to maintain safe and efficient operations.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or a related maritime discipline.
• Previous sailing experience as a Chief Engineer or Senior Engineering Officer on bulk carriers is preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Technical Superintendent or in a similar shore-based technical role.
• Strong knowledge of vessel maintenance, dry-docking, budgeting and maritime regulations (ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL, and Class requirements).
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
