Production Manager (Fresh Produce)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Manager to oversee the daily operations of our fresh produce processing and packing facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production activities, ensuring food safety compliance, maintaining product quality, optimizing manpower utilization, and achieving production targets.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations

• Oversee daily production activities, including receiving, sorting, processing, packing, and dispatch of fresh produce.
• Ensure production schedules are met efficiently and accurately.
• Monitor productivity and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
• Manage production workflow to minimize waste and maximize output.

Quality & Food Safety

• Ensure compliance with food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and company SOPs.
• Conduct regular inspections to maintain product quality and freshness.
• Investigate and resolve quality issues promptly.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of products throughout the production process.

Team Management

• Lead, supervise, and train production staff and team leaders.
• Prepare manpower schedules and allocate resources effectively.
• Monitor employee performance and enforce workplace discipline and safety standards.
• Foster a positive and productive work environment.

Inventory & Equipment Management

• Coordinate with warehouse and procurement teams to ensure adequate supply of materials and packaging.
• Monitor stock usage and minimize wastage.
• Ensure production equipment is properly maintained and operational.
• Coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance activities when required.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

• Prepare production reports and KPI analysis.
• Monitor production costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Implement process improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and efficiency.
• Support management in operational planning and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in food manufacturing, fresh produce processing, supermarket central kitchen, or related operations.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene requirements.
• Experience managing production teams and shift operations.
• Good leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle operational challenges effectively.
