Locum Occupational Therapist

Job Responsibilities

• OT assessments, develop intervention plans and implement therapy programmes for students with intellectual disabilities
• Collaborate with educators, AHPs, care staff, caregivers and families to deliver holistic, interdisciplinary support
• Provide coaching and carry-over strategies to teaching staff and families for home and school environments
• Conduct a minimum of 36 individual therapy sessions and at least 1 group intervention session per month
• Participate in case conferences, multidisciplinary meetings and intake assessments
• Maintain accurate and timely therapy documentation, progress records and assessment reports
• Provide OT consultation to staff and caregivers within 3 working days of request
• Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality and professional standards throughout the contract

Job Requirements

• Fully registered with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) — mandatory
• Degree in Occupational Therapy from a recognised institution
• Experience with persons with intellectual disabilities or special needs preferred
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Willingness to be deployed multiple locations as required
