Design Manager

Job Description & Requirements

Responsible for technical drawings of more complex/large projects or oversees a team of drafters. Ensures that technical drawings are prepared according to time schedule and conform to specifications for construction

· Supervises and monitors the progress of shop drawings by team members for approval submission;

·Ensures the understanding and compliance of drawings with standards and specifications;

·Ensures understanding of project scope and requirements that impact accuracy of shop drawings;

·Prepares shop drawings and necessary documentation submission to main contractors/architects, etc;

·Prepares and updates status of shop drawing submission list for each project;

·Highlights and discusses any discrepancies on items/materials with relevant parties;

·Assists subordinates in the preparation of shop drawing details;

·Co-ordinates and arranges structural and architectural inspections with consultants;

·Prepares shop drawing schedule and submission to consultants for approval;

·Attends site meetings, progress and design meetings to provide status updates and resolves design and other issues;

·Works closely with project team members, clients and vendors to ensure timely completion of projects;

·Monitors and coaches the performance of team members;

·Promote steam spirit and ensures good morale exists among team members;

·Any other duties as may be assigned
