Job Description

Job Responsibilities

1. Project Leadership & Coordination

  • Lead and manage all Instrumentation & Monitoring (I&M) activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Attend and chair project meetings related to instrumentation, monitoring, and geotechnical performance.
  • Act as the primary liaison between project teams, consultants, clients, and authorities on I&M matters.

2. Instrumentation Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of geotechnical and structural instrumentation systems.
  • Ensure all instrumentation works are carried out in accordance with project requirements, specifications, and industry standards.
  • Monitor contractor performance and ensure timely completion of instrumentation activities.

3. Monitoring & Data Analysis

  • Review and analyze instrument readings, monitoring results, and trend data.
  • Assess ground movement, structural behavior, and excavation performance to ensure project stability and safety.
  • Identify abnormal readings and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with ERSS (Earth Retaining or Stabilizing Structures) monitoring requirements.

4. Reporting & Stakeholder Management

  • Coordinate directly with QPD/QPS, consultants, and relevant authorities on instrumentation and monitoring matters.
  • Prepare and submit monitoring reports, technical assessments, and presentation materials.
  • Provide regular updates on instrumentation performance, risks, and mitigation measures.

5. Site Management & Execution

  • Work closely with Site Managers, Construction Managers, and project teams to ensure smooth site execution.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify installation quality and monitoring effectiveness.
  • Support construction activities by providing technical advice based on monitoring results.

6. Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and workplace safety standards.
  • Maintain proper documentation, records, and calibration certificates for instrumentation systems.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and technical reviews as required.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8–10 years of relevant experience in instrumentation, monitoring, and geotechnical engineering within construction, infrastructure, tunnelling, or deep excavation projects.
  • Proven experience managing instrumentation installation, monitoring programs, data interpretation, and reporting.
  • Experience working with ERSS, deep excavation, tunnelling, or large-scale infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
