Occupational Therapist [West]

Location: West

Working Hours: Mon - Fri, 8.30am-5.30pm

Our client is a community hospital that focuses mainly on rehabilitation and long-term care, especially for elderly patients.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to determine therapy needs
• Develop and implement individualised treatment plans to improve daily living and functional skills
• Conduct therapy sessions to enhance motor skills, coordination, and independence
• Train patients in activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, feeding, and mobility
• Recommend and train patients on the use of assistive devices and adaptive equipment
• Monitor and evaluate patients’ progress, and adjust treatment plans accordingly
• Work closely with doctors, nurses, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals
• Educate patients and family members on therapy techniques and home care strategies
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation
• Ensure compliance with professional standards, safety guidelines, and healthcare regulations
• Participate in case discussions, care planning, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Conduct training to department colleagues

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy
• Fully registered or eligible for registration with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC)
• Valid practising certificate in Singapore (for practicing therapists)
• At least 1–3 years of relevant experience preferred but entry level candidates are welcome to apply too.
• Strong knowledge of therapy techniques, rehabilitation practices, and patient care
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to work with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Compassionate, patient, and committed to improving clients’ quality of life
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team
• Good organisational and documentation skills
