Job Title: Finance Executive (Construction Industry)

Job Summary

The Finance Executive is responsible for managing financial operations, reporting, and cost control within construction projects. The role ensures accurate financial records, supports budgeting, monitors project costs, and ensures compliance with accounting standards and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain full set of accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
• Monitor project budgets, costs, and financial performance to ensure profitability.
• Handle progress claims, payment certifications, and subcontractor billing.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports, management reports, and forecasts.
• Ensure timely invoicing and collection of payments from clients.
• Perform bank reconciliation and cash flow management.
• Liaise with project managers, quantity surveyors, and other departments to track project costs.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation.
• Maintain proper documentation of contracts, purchase orders, and financial transactions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the construction or M&E industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Familiarity with construction accounting, including project costing and progress claims.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, SAP, or equivalent) and Microsoft Excel.
• Good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in handling project-based accounting and cost control.
• Knowledge of local tax regulations (e.g., GST).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment and meet deadlines.
