Monthly Salary: SGD 12,000++
Working Hours: 5.5 or 6 days per week, including weekends and public holidays when required
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Music Instructor to join our team in Singapore. The ideal candidate should have at least 10 years of professional teaching experience in music education and be able to conduct high-quality lessons for students of different ages and skill levels.
The Music Instructor will be responsible for delivering structured music lessons, developing students’ technical skills, preparing students for performances or examinations, and maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group music lessons for children, teenagers, and adult learners.
- Design lesson plans according to students’ skill levels, learning objectives, and progress.
- Teach music theory, practical techniques, performance skills, rhythm, ear training, and interpretation.
- Prepare students for graded music examinations, auditions, concerts, and competitions.
- Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students and parents.
- Maintain a professional, patient, and encouraging teaching environment.
- Assist in curriculum development, lesson materials, and student performance planning.
- Support school events, recitals, workshops, and promotional activities when required.
- Ensure proper care and maintenance of musical instruments and teaching materials.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience as a music instructor, music teacher, or professional musician.
- Strong knowledge of music theory, performance techniques, and teaching methodology.
- Relevant music qualification, diploma, degree, or professional certification is preferred.
- Experience preparing students for ABRSM, Trinity, Rockschool, or equivalent examinations will be an advantage.
- Able to teach students across different age groups and proficiency levels.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, responsible, disciplined, and passionate about music education.
- Able to work on weekends and evenings when required.
- Bilingual ability in English and Mandarin/Korean/Japanese will be an advantage, depending on student profile.
Preferred Skills
- Piano, vocal, violin, guitar, drums, or other instrument specialization.
- Experience in early childhood music education.
- Experience in performance coaching and stage preparation.
- Ability to develop customized learning plans for students.
- Familiarity with Singapore music education standards and examination pathways.
